Japanese mobile operator emobile has launched what is claimed to be Japan’s fastest mobile network with claimed speeds of 42 MBPS. The claim is still theoretical, based on tests, with the full rollout to major cities by year end.
emobile currently has only 2% market share but rapidly growing, gaining connections by 52.4% last year.
The use of mobile in Japan is seen as a strong indicator for the future of mobile Internet in Western countries.
